Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity- the students will learn more and be productive if the teachers make learning fun and creative.  If you do not make it fun for the students most of them will loose interest and start doing something else that is not educational.  By having a pamethean board in our classroom, the students want to learn and they have fun  and learning at the same time.
Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments - I totally agree with the digital-age learning.  The program prepdog.com, the students are taking an assessment on their level.  What I mean about level is if they are an advance, minimum or proficient student.  They can work on their on level and check their own work.  The can continue to do this until they are comfortable with that skill.
Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments - getting the students parents and community involved, will get the students to do their best.
Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility- letting the students know that some students learn by different ways or levels.  Just because you might be a listener.  Another student might be a visual learner.
Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership - Teachers do need to keep up with today's society by going to different workshops and conferences.

Introduction

Hello my name is Wendy Owens.  I currently have an AA degree of Science. I currently work as a teacher assistant through Covington County Schools.  I work at Hopewell Elementary.  I am currently attending University of Southern Mississippi pusuing a BA in Education.  My goal is to graduate in December 2011 and becoming a teacher in August 2012.  I have learned that technology takes a big part of todays classroom setting.  In the classroom that I work in we have the pamenthean board and projector.  The board also come with a slate.  The slate is used when we don't want the kids to get out of their seats, they just pass it around and write their answers on it and it show up on the board.  It is used everyday to help with student learning.  We play educational games as a whole class.  We give the students the opportunity of come up one by one to have hands on with the pamenthean board.  We also have laptops and desktop computers in our class.  The student use the computers to get on prepdog.com, which is a program that prepare the students for the MCT test.  They also use programs such as study island, funbrain and mct achievers.  Technology plays a big role.
